Steady year-round with a clear winter peak. Groups travelling together are common on this route, which usually pushes the answer toward a larger cabin than the distance alone would suggest.

The airports
Where you actually take off and land.
Opa-locka Executive
Miami's business-aviation airport, about twelve miles north of downtown and clear of the airline traffic at MIA. Several FBOs, customs on the field, and the base we fly out of most often. Atlantic Aviation handles about nine out of ten of our departures here; Fontainebleau covers the rest.
FBO Atlantic Aviation
Punta Cana International
A dedicated private terminal separate from the airline side, which is the whole point of flying private into a resort destination this busy.
FBO Universal Aviation
What to know
The private terminal is the entire point
Punta Cana handles a very large volume of airline traffic, and the private terminal sits apart from all of it, which is the difference between clearing in twenty minutes and clearing in two hours. Universal Aviation handles us on the ground there. Groups travelling together are the norm on this route, so the answer is usually a larger cabin than the 795 nautical miles alone would suggest: the seats and the baggage decide, not the distance. Golf drives a good share of these trips, and we work directly with the leading courses in the region, Teeth of the Dog among them, on arrangements for our clients.
Questions
Miami to Punta Cana, answered.
How long is the flight from Miami to Punta Cana?
The great-circle distance is 795 nautical miles. A super-midsize jet covers it in about 2h 00m block to block; a light jet needs closer to 2h 16m. Winds move these by fifteen to thirty minutes in either direction, and westbound legs are usually the slower ones.
Which aircraft fly Miami to Punta Cana nonstop?
Light jet, Midsize jet, Super midsize, Heavy jet, Ultra long range. Those categories carry the range for this leg with normal reserves and a full cabin. Smaller cabins can still fly it with a fuel stop, which adds roughly forty-five minutes on the ground.
Which airports and FBOs do you use for Miami and Punta Cana?
Opa-locka Executive (KOPF) at the Miami end and Punta Cana International (MDPC) at the Punta Cana end. We normally use Atlantic Aviation at KOPF and Universal Aviation at MDPC. If you already have a preference at either end we use yours, and if a different field suits your ground plans better we will quote that instead.
How quickly can you quote this route?
Most come back within thirty minutes during business hours. A trip that needs international permits or an unusual airport takes longer, and we tell you which yours is rather than leaving you waiting. Either way you get options from certified Part 135 operators with the trade-offs written out.
How we work
A brokerage built by pilots.
We check the operator before you fly
Certificates first, then the aircraft. We pull the operator's Wyvern standing and the assigned crew's type rating, currency and hours on that specific aircraft. Coming from the flight deck ourselves, we know which of those numbers matter and which only look good on paper. If it does not come back clean, we go elsewhere and you never hear about it.
The aircraft has to match the airport
The most common request we turn around is the largest cabin into the smallest field. Sometimes the aircraft simply cannot do it. When that happens we come back with a different cabin, a different airport nearby, or two aircraft, and where it makes sense, a helicopter or a car for the last leg. Getting you there properly is a different job from selling you the airplane you asked for.
Your FBO, not ours
Atlantic Aviation is our home at Opa-locka. Years of working together, and it shows in how our clients get handled. Beyond that we work with Fontainebleau at OPF, Jet Nassau in the Bahamas and Jet Aviation worldwide, plus most major FBOs globally. If you already have a preference at either end, we use yours.
What happens when something breaks
Aircraft go unserviceable and weather closes airports. What separates one broker from another is the twenty minutes afterwards. We have moved a client onto a larger cabin at no extra cost to keep his morning, and we have put a trip together inside an hour for a three in the morning departure. Where we can upgrade you at no additional cost, we do.
